Samsung Display has teased the release of new Quantum Dot OLED (QD-OLED) panels through Chinese media. As far as we can tell, the photo above is of two reference gaming monitor designs that span 27 and 31.5 inches, respectively. Either way, Samsung Display has outlined that these new QD-OLED panel types will be delivered to ASUS, Dell and MSI first.
Based on Dell's recent releases, these QD-OLED panels may be showcased under its Alienware brand. If that is the case, then they could be the AW2725DF and AW3225QF, photos of which Windows Report leaked last month. Accordingly, Samsung Display's 31.5-inch option will output at 4K and 240 Hz, compared to 1440p (2K) and 360 Hz for its 27-inch equivalent.
Currently, it is unclear when these panels will be orderable and from which manufacturer. However, Samsung Display has provided a few hints about availability. Allegedly, the display manufacturer has already started mass-producing both panel types ahead of CES 2024 showcases. With that being said, Samsung Display's press release does not clarify whether it will be exhibiting these new panels or its display panels.
