ASRock has presented the NUC Ultra 100 BOX and NUCS Ultra 100 BOX, a pair of mini-PCs based around Intel Meteor Lake-H processors. Arriving in four variants, the 117.5 x 110 mm and 1 kg machines will be configurable with up to 96 GB of RAM and fast PCIe 4.0 storage.

ASRock has announced the NUC Ultra 100 BOX and NUCS Ultra 100 BOX, a pair of mini-PCs that will soon be available with a choice between two Intel Meteor Lake-H processors. Specifically, ASRock has settled on the Core Ultra 5 125H and Core Ultra 7 155H, 14-core and 16-core options, respectively, that will be configurable with up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM across two SO-DIMM slots.

While we have not reviewed the Core Ultra 5 125H yet, we have tested the Core Ultra 7 155H in the Acer Swift Go 14. Also, we have analysed the Core Ultra 7 155H itself too in a separate article. Meanwhile, ASRock has included M.2 2280 and M.2 2242 slots for PCIe Gen 4 storage, although only PCIe Gen 4 x1 in the latter's case. Moreover, the larger NUC Ultra 100 BOX adds a 2.5-inch drive bay for a SATA 3.0 HDD or SSD.

As such, the NUC Ultra 100 BOX is a few millimetres taller than the NUCS Ultra 100 BOX at 49 mm and 38 mm, respectively. However, both measure 117.5 x 110 mm and weigh 1 kg in their unconfigured states. Also, ASRock distinguishes the pair with slightly different ports. For some reason, the larger NUC Ultra 100 BOX has an additional 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet connection at the expense of a USB Type-A port. Unfortunately, ASRock has not revealed when the NUC Ultra 100 BOX series will be available, nor for how much. For reference, all machines will ship with the following ports:

  • 1x 3.5 mm jack
  • 1x 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet (2x for NUC Ultra 100 BOX)
  • 2x HDMI 2.1
  • 3x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A (4x for NUCS Ultra 100 BOX)
  • 1x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C
