One-Netbook is now officially selling the One-Netbook 5, just over a month after Minixpc began stocking the compact laptop. As is often the case, the One-Netbook 5 is cheaper when bought through One-Netbook directly. However, there are no additional configurations, as One-Netbook's specifications suggested would be the case.
Thus, the only processor option is the Core i7-1250U, a 9 W processor that belongs to the Alder Lake-U series. Having already reviewed the Core i7-1250U in the 2022 edition of the HP Envy x360 13 and the ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold, we observed that the 10-core processor is roughly 50% faster than the Core i7-1165G7 but is a way behind the Core i7-1260P. At any rate, One-Netbook complements the low-powered processor with a 42 Wh battery, as well as LPDDR5-5200 RAM and a PCIe 4.0 SSD.
Additionally, all versions of the One-Netbook 5 ship with a 10.1-inch IPS display that outputs at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels and is attached to a hinge that supports three postures, as the image below shows. In other words, the One-Netbook 5 serves as a smaller alternative to the Surface Laptop Studio 2 that Microsoft released last month. The One-Netbook 5 starts at US$1,169 with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Alternatively, One-Netbook offers the compact laptop with 2 TB of storage for a US$100 surcharge. Please see One-Netbook's website for more details.
