OneMix 5: Mini Surface Laptop Studio 2 lookalike now available as One-Netbook 5 ↺
Retailer Minixpc has started selling the One-Netbook 5, a compact laptop that One-netbook unveiled earlier this summer as the OneMix 5. For context, One-netbook's latest compact laptop replaces the One Mix 4 and ONEMIX 4S. Setting the constant name changes aside, the One-Netbook 5 should eventually be available with the Intel Core i5-1230U and Core i7-1250U as processor options.
However, Minixpc is only selling the device with the Core i7-1250U for now. As such, the US$1,199.99 pricing shown on its website is unlikely to be the starting pricing of One-netbook's new compact laptop. Regardless, the One-Netbook 5 complements its Intel Alder Lake-U series processors with LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 5,200 MHz and a PCIe 4.0 SSD connected via an M.2 2280 slot. Additionally, One-netbook has included USB 4 and USB 3.2 Type-C ports, as well as a 3.5 mm jack and a MicroSD card reader.
Moreover, the One-netbook 5 has a 10.1-inch IPS display that it powers with a 42 Wh battery. For reference, the display also outputs at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels in a 16:10 aspect ratio with a 300 PPI, 108.8% sRGB colour space coverage and supports an active stylus with up to 4,096 pressure levels. Somehow, One-netbook has fit all these components inside a 232 x 167 x 15 mm housing that weighs 970 g, undercutting almost all modern laptops. The One-Netbook 5 is orderable now for US$1,199.99 with 32 GB of RAM. Curiously, Minixpc is offering the machine with 1 TB or 2 TB of storage for the same price, which we imagine is an error. Please see Minixpc's website for more details.
