Notebookcheck has just passed 50,000 subscribers on YouTube, publishing a healthy mix of reviews, product showcases, and spectacular b-roll. Our host and video lead, Alex Waetzel, works with the written review team to deliver top-shelf tech content on the video platform.

The NotebookcheckReviews YouTube channel has been up and running for a number of years now, but in April 2022, Alex Waetzel took the helm of the video team, elevating both the quality and entertainment value of the video projects published on the channel.

It's no secret that a 15-minute video is often easier to digest than a long written review. By combining the creative juices of the video team with the in-depth technical testing and analytical chops of our written reviews, Notebookcheck is able to bring the quality of our written reviews to a wider audience.

The start of a new era

The first video published since Alex took the reins of the video team was a review of the compact Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, equipped with the Ryzen 9 6900HS CPU and AMD Radeon RX 6800S GPU. While the video quality was among the best we had published at the time, video quality, graphics, and presentation would continue to grow in leaps and bounds in the coming months.

New heights

After the style overhaul, the channel has featured some truly impressive devices. The Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16, for example, was featured in a hands-on preview video that has garnered over 114,000 views since it went live just over six months ago.

The team's best performing video to date is a review of the Zen 4 Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, which has thus far achieved over 120,000 views on the video platform — 50,000 of which were within the first week after publishing.

Pushing forward to deliver quality content

As the ever-evolving tech space continues to churn out new devices, viewers can be sure that Alex, the video team, and the written review team will deliver comprehensive coverage of the latest and greatest releases.

The latest review at the time of writing is a hands-on preview of the Lenovo Legion 9i — a high-end water-cooled gaming laptop that impressed us with its top-notch screen quality, lightning-fast performance, and slim footprint.

Head over to the NotebookcheckReviews YouTube channel to get a regular dose of in-depth laptop and tech coverage with high production quality and a little humour, for good measure.
