Job listing suggests Lies of P sequel will be developed in Unreal Engine 5
Despite not winning too many awards, Lies of P was undoubtedly one of the best games launched in 2023. It succeeded where many others failed and created a perfect Soulslike that many would argue is on par with FromSoftware's creations. Fans will be pleased to know that Neowiz plans to develop a sequel eventually.
@IdleSloth84_ over at X (FKA Twitter) discovered a job posting on Neowiz's website looking for a "planner in charge of localization." It mentions "P's Lies' next project" and says it will be developed in Unreal Engine 5. The original Lies of P was an Unreal Engine 4 game, and it makes sense for its sequel to be upgraded to the next-generation platform.
However, it'll be a while before full-time development on a sequel starts because Neowiz has confirmed that Lies of P ($50 on Amazon) has some DLC in store. The game's ending teases a new (potentially playable) character and leaves some loose ends that have to be addressed via post-launch content. Lies of P draws heavy inspiration from Bloodborne, and it'll be interesting to see if its DLC can live up to the benchmark set by The Old Hunters
