Although it surfaced on YouTube and the author's ArtStation page last month, it took a while for the Unreal Engine 5 recreation of the Durance of Hate area from Diablo II: Resurrected to gain the popularity it deserves. Yesterday, Wccftech's Aernout van de Velde bumped into it. Thanks to him, I found about it as well.
Made by Polish 3D artist Michał Wawruch, the Durance of Hate area (Mephisto's lair) from Diablo II: Resurrected is a playable demo that unleashes the Unreal Engine 5 graphics awesomeness upon this game. The hardware requirements to run it are quite low, as he only mentioned the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060. The demo should be available for download from Google Drive, but due to its recent spike in popularity, it is currently unavailable and might take a while for access to be restored. In addition to Unreal Engine 5, Wawruch used Blender, ZBrush, as well as Substance's 3D Designer and 3D Painter.
Released in 2021, Diablo II: Resurrected brings back the two-decade old Diablo II and its Lord of Destruction expansion with 3D graphics instead of 2D sprites, a maximum 4K resolution, as well as 7.1 Dolby Surround sound. Obviously, the visuals and audio parts were redone while keeping the original story intact. Sadly, TCP/IP multiplayer support is not available in the remake. On the bright side, the 2021 release of this iconic title is also available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox One & Series X | S consoles.
