AYANEO has showcased gameplay footage of the Pocket S, an Android gaming handheld based on the Snapdragon G3x Gen2. The AYANEO Pocket S should be available early next year, although it remains in the prototyping stage for the time being.

The end of the year is fast approaching, but AYANEO is not done with showcasing new devices just yet. For context, the company started selling the AM01 mini-PC and SLIDE gaming handheld earlier this month. Additionally, AYANEO has also used November to unveil the Retro Power Bank and the Pocket DMG, plus the FLIP KB and FLIP DS.

Now, AYANEO has returned to the Pocket S, another gaming handheld that it previewed in August. Initially, the company hoped to launch the Pocket S in December, with shipments scheduled for early 2024. However, AYANEO has made no mention of these dates in its gameplay demo video. Instead, the company describes the Pocket S shown below as a prototype and an engineering sample.

Thus, the Pocket S appears a way off from being released. Nonetheless, the device should remain competitive whenever it launches among Android gaming handhelds thanks to its Snapdragon G3x Gen2 chipset. In short, the Snapdragon G3x Gen2 should prove significantly more powerful than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 upon which it is based, as well as the Dimensity 1200-powered Pocket Air too.
