AYANEO Retro Power Bank revealed with Super NES design

AYANEO has presented the Retro Power Bank, one of several new products introduced during its REMAKE concept launch event. In a blog post, the company explains that the power bank will be the first of many retro-themed accessories as part of its aim to 'provide a comprehensive retro culture experience for players'. Incidentally, it has also showcased the Pocket DMG and Retro Mini PC series, details of which we have provided separately.

Undoubtedly, AYANEO has designed the Retro Power Bank with the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (Super NES/SNES) in mind. Not only has the company borrowed directly from Nintendo's Super NES typography, but it has also included various motifs to emphasise design similarities between the devices. For example, there are elements that mimic the Super NES' power and reset buttons, although it is unclear whether these are functional or decorative.

Additionally,  AYANEO has arranged the power bank's USB Type-C ports to mirror the Super NES' controller ports layout. Moreover, the Retro Power Bank has a small display where a cartridge would sit that shows its remaining battery percentage and whether it is actively recharging any connected devices. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when AYANEO will launch its first power bank, nor its peak capacity and charging throughput.
