The OnePlus 12 preview possibly anticipated by many assiduous fans since the OEM mentioned BOE in conjunction with its display has arrived. The upcoming flagship smartphone's latest teaser confirms the return of the OEM's custom Rain Touch protection.
As the name suggests, the technology is credited with the ability to keep using a given display even with wet hands, thereby allowing the 12 to take phone-calls or respond to UI activations in a manner superior to a Dynamic Island display iPhone in official rain-simulation testing.
OnePlus asserts that the 12 will stay cool under any circumstances as well, thanks to its new Tiangong Pro cooling system. It is rated to pack no less than 38,547mm² of custom heat-dissipating material into each 12, 9140mm² of which will be taken up by its vapor chamber (VC).
Tiangong Pro is also slated to contain an industry-first "aerospace rocket nozzle"-inspired Laval chamber, thereby taking its cooling to new and unprecedented levels - according to OnePlus, at least. Noted tipster Digital Chat Station is willing to back the OEM up on that claim, however.
The leaker concurs that "you can do anything" with a VC that size - game on "extreme" settings and score 2,333,033 on AnTuTu included. Then again, some fans might still be disappointed by the sight of the 12 exhibiting this allegedly astronomical performance as pictured.
It is depicted as curved rather than flat for a start; furthermore, for a supposedly ultra-next-gen display, it still has a noticeable chin to go with the precarious balance of its corners. The OnePlus 12's chances of overcoming these potential disadvantages will be revealed from early December 2023.
