OnePlus continues to flood its social media channels with teasers about the OnePlus 12. Arriving on December 5, the OnePlus 12 will see the return of wireless charging for OnePlus smartphones, as well as a new 4,500 nit display and the camera system from the OnePlus Open.

OnePlus is not presenting its next flagship until December 5. Nonetheless, the company is revealing countless details about the OnePlus 12 in the lead-up to its launch event, much like Xiaomi did with the Redmi K70 Pro. To recap, only a few days have passed since OnePlus started teasing the OnePlus 12 again with a nod to its global release as well.

Subsequently, it has confirmed that the OnePlus 12 will utilise the same camera system as the OnePlus Open (curr. US$1,699 on Amazon). Hence, the former will feature the Sony LYT-T808 as its primary sensor, which outputs at 50 MP with a 1/1.43-inch optical format and 1.12 µm wide pixels. Additionally, OnePlus has included 64 MP telephoto (Omnivision OV64B) and 48 MP ultra-wide-angle (Sony IMX581) cameras that shoot natively at 70 mm (3x telephoto) and 14 mm equivalent focal lengths, respectively.

While the camera system is already offered in the OnePlus Open, a OnePlus executive has sought to share various camera samples. Embedded below, the samples are all richly detailed, although few details can be drawn about how well the OnePlus 12 will perform in low-light conditions. Incidentally, the same executive has confirmed that the device will support wireless charging, a feature that OnePlus dropped for the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus Open.

Unfortunately, OnePlus has not revealed any other details in this regard yet. By contrast, it has outlined more display highlights. On the one hand, the company continues to boast that the OnePlus 12's display breaks 18 DisplayMate records.

Moreover, it asserts that the panel offers a 'medical-grade all-round eye protection solution' in part thanks to Oppo's P1 display chip. Arguably, the company's biggest claim is that the OnePlus 12 can reach 4,500 nits, which would outstrip any other flagship smartphone. As always, we would recommend awaiting independent reviews before passing judgement on the OnePlus 12 and how it stacks up against its competitors
