Vivo Y100i launches as a mid-range smartphone with 512 GB memory and 50 MP dual camera
The brand new Vivo Y100i has a modern design with a flat frame, rectangular camera module, colorful back, and a display with relatively thin edges, apart from the wider chin at the bottom. Vivo has installed a 6.64-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 2,388 x 1,080 pixels, which achieves a frame rate of just 60 Hz.
The 8-megapixel (f/2.0) selfie camera sits in a punch-hole, while the camera module on the back combines a 50 MP (f/1.8) main camera with a less useful 2 MP camera. The smartphone supports Bluetooth 5.1, including Qualcomm aptX HD and Sony LDAC, and alternatively, a 3.5 mm headphone jack is also available. A MediaTek Dimensity 6020 works inside - this SoC combines four ARM Cortex-A76 performance cores with clock frequencies of up to 2.2 GHz with four economical Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 2.0 GHz.
In addition, the Vivo Y100i always offers 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal flash memory. The 5,000 mAh battery can be charged via USB-C with up to 44 watts. The fingerprint sensor is located on the side of the smartphone. The Vivo Y100i is delivered with OriginOS 3 based on Android 13. As is usual in this price range, Vivo has opted not to include a waterproof casing or wireless charging for cost reasons.

The Vivo Y100i is only available in China with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB flash storage for 1,599 yuan (approx. 206 euros). Vivo has not yet commented on a possible launch in the rest of the world.
