OnePlus Ace 3 cameras touted as portrait and scenery specialists ahead of launch
OnePlus is currently hyping the Ace 3 as the most important smartphone it will release - until the flagship 12 makes its global debut, that is. To that end, the 2 devices have a very similar camera hump, although the Ace 3 patently fails to exhibit any extra logos in its teasers thus far.
Despite that fact, OnePlus China's general manager Li Jie Louis has certainly started to talk about the third-gen Ace almost as if it is a co-branded flagship. The executive asserts that the smartphone "is very amazing whether it is shooting landscapes or people", in color that is "natural, comfortable but not excessive".
The Ace 3's new official camera samples bear those claims out to some degree, with watermarks that reveal it is equipped with a 24mm lens with an f-stop of 1.8, capable of bringing its ISO down to as little as 50 and its shutter speed down to 1/3628 seconds.
Most interestingly, Li Jie Louis asserts that the Ace 3 achieves its imaging results using "ultra-clear image quality" and "super light and shadow image" algorithms, which are phrases also thrown around at the launch of the OEM's new top-end software tweaks.
Accordingly, while the Ace 3 might not be unleashed as a Hasselblad device, it might be at least somewhat HyperTone. Then again, it seems the lens responsible for the new sample images might be 1 of as little as 2 on the back of the device.
Those suspicions might be confirmed or denied on the Ace 3's January 4, 2024 debut. In the meantime, the brand has confirmed that it can be ordered in Star Black or Moon Sea Blue as well as Mingsha Gold on its subsequent release.
