OnePlus Ace 3 premium extra-narrow-bezel screen teased ahead of imminent launch
The OnePlus Ace 3 is already touted to launch with a 1.5K version of the OEM's latest and greatest BOE 8T display. Now, the company has decided not to wait until its impending debut to reveal that the same panel is to be an "extremely narrow bezel" screen.
It will apparently achieve this "ultimate visual effect" with sides of just 1.36mm each in depth, thereby beating even the Meizu 21 and Xiaomi 14 in these terms. Then again, the OnePlus Ace 3's chin might look thick indeed in comparison, as the OEM has only gotten that border's dimensions down to 1.94mm.
In addition, it should be noted that OnePlus is much less eager to draw similar attention to the Ace 3's top edge...perhaps because the shrunken bezel in that area makes its corners all the more prominent. Nevertheless, the smartphone is now also touted to feel like a flagship from all angles with a metal mid-frame to match its new rear panel experience.
Furthermore, OnePlus has now also revealed that its display will upgrade to Gorilla Glass Victus 2 as well as a potentially super-accurate fingerprint sensor. The Ace 3 is also touted to launch with "practical" perks such as "dual-frequency GPS and tri-frequency Beidou" positioning accuracy, and to launch with a version of ColorOS that will see 3 major Android upgrades over 4 years.
Hopefully, the Ace 3's "all-round attitude" to a "flagship-like experience" will translate to its rumored global re-brand to the 12R alongside the flagship 12 in early 2024.
