OPPO N3 Flip hyped as professional Hasselblad portrait-taking foldable smartphone prior to launch
The N3 Flip is now officially set to launch as OPPO's first foldable smartphone of 2023. Its clamshell form-factor has been redesigned to accommodate a more pronounced camera hump in this generation; now, the OEM has posted a preview of what it is capable of ahead of its formal August 2023 debut. The shots offer some insight into the new Flip's "Hasselblad portrait" shooters and what they are capable of in advance.
OPPO's recent design teaser confirms that the Find N3 Flip will combine the impressive cover display dimensions of its predecessor with a new camera hump that may prove a matter of individual taste on its impending launch. Nevertheless, the OEM now asserts that it will be worthy of its central Hasselblad logo from that date.
The face that the Find N3 Flip might prompt you to pull notwithstanding, OPPO now touts it as a new portrait photography flagship by uploading some sample shots of people's faces. The almost inevitable collection of single-subject images contain official watermarks with some potentially useful and interesting hardware information.
For example, they show that the N3 Flip can take such shots with f-stops of 1.8 to 7.1 with a 47mm focal length. It is also capable of appreciable shutter-speed, going up to 1/5,000 seconds in one case. Therefore, OPPO might yet be able to justify the switch to a suspiciously Vivo X Flip-like look on August 29, 2023.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
