Rumor | Huawei P60 and P60 Pro with top-of-the-line rear camera features appear on official database ahead of launch
Huawei has implied that its smartphone cameras have been DSLR-like in the past; now, according to the latest rumors, the OEM will do so again, albeit in a whole new way, in 2023. It may or may not debut this alleged new design in a 'P60' and/or 'P60 Pro' as a marked departure from their P50-series forebears.
The newer models are, for one thing, now projected to launch with the variable aperture technology last seen in the top-end Mate 50 series of yesteryear. It may have a maximum f-stop of ~1.4 again, yet be paired to "custom" hardware and a "dual-frame" main camera in the P60 series.
These new tips come courtesy of Digital Chat Station, and may bolster earlier claims of P60-series camera updates from the same tipster. Should this be the case, these new putative mobile photography contenders may have also leaked again via the MIIT, as the regulator has just approved a new MNA-AL00 and LNA-AL00 for sale.
There is no guarantee that this is the case as yet, of course; however, the model numbers contain clues suggesting that, should they pertain to next-gen HarmonyOS flagships, they will once again ship without typically in-demand 5G support.
