Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: Leaked official photos outline design changes and launch colours
Yesterday, Roland Quandt leaked Galaxy S23 marketing images, confirming the device's design, its launch colours and how it differs from the Galaxy S22. Now, NieuweMobiel has done the same for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which will be available in the same colourways as the Galaxy S23. For reference, Samsung has called these colours Botanic Green, Cotton Flower, Misty Lilac and Phantom Black. Incidentally, Samsung has brought the latter colour across from the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
While the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra look identical at first glance, Samsung has made a few design adjustments. On the one hand, Samsung has increased the lens size of the latter's primary, ultra-wide-angle and 10x telephoto cameras. Conversely, the second telephoto camera remains unchanged. It remains to be seen whether these lens changes will affect image quality or whether they are aesthetic. Potentially, Samsung could have altered their design to reduce the chances of the lenses scratching, with the four rear-facing camera protected by the Gorilla Glass back panel.
Additionally, the Galaxy S23 Ultra's physical buttons sit lower than they do on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The difference is minor, but Samsung has moved the antenna bands for this year's model too. Unfortunately, the leaked images do not reveal if the Galaxy S23 Ultra has a less curved chassis than its predecessor, nor the device's overall dimensions. The Galaxy S23 Ultra will arrive on February 1 alongside the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus, renders of which has also shared today. The Galaxy S23 trio should be available globally with Snapdragon chipsets, unlike their predecessors.
