Over the past 24 hours, more details of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 series have been revealed than ever before, including information on pre-order offers, pricing in Europe, and even spec sheets. It appears, however, that the details in the leaked spec sheet may not have been accurate to a tee—with new information now hinting at one major difference.
While the leaked spec sheet for the Galaxy S23 series claimed the phones would be equipped with LPDDR5 RAM, word on the grapevine seems to indicate otherwise. According to leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy S23 lineup will feature LPDDR5X RAM instead. The Galaxy S22 series launched with LPDDR5 RAM last year, and the upgrade to LPDDR5X promises a 1.3x boost in memory speed along with 20% lower power consumption.
In addition to the memory upgrade, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will also offer improved storage. The S22 series came equipped with UFS 3.1 storage, but their successors will arrive on February 1 with UFS 4.0 storage. The latter promises up to a 100% boost in read and write speeds, while also being 46% more efficient. All of these, along with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 hint at performance supremacy for Samsung's upcoming flagships.
