The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is allegedly dominating the GPU sales at the German retail outlet Mindfactory during the ongoing week. Additionally, midrange boards like the RTX 3060, the RX 6700 XT, and the RX 6600 are also moving quite well. When it comes to sales of current-gen flagships, the RX 7900 XTX has so far stayed ahead of the pack this week.

Nvidia re-released the RTX 4080 12 GB as the RTX 4070 Ti earlier this month. This change of name brought a US$100 price cut as the RTX 4070 Ti MSRP is US$799. But even though the card is sufficiently powerful, many reviews lamented the offering. For instance, Gamers Nexus called the RTX 4070 Ti “Nvidia’s Rip-off”. In our review of the GPU, we also expressed concerns that although Nvidia advertised up to 3x better performance vs the RTX 3090 Ti, the RTX 4070 Ti performs barely any better than the RTX 3090 Ti. Based on these sentiments, one would assume that the board won’t receive a positive response from gamers.

Quite the contrary, the RTX 4070 Ti is selling like hotcakes in Germany according to the GPU sales data collected by TechEpiphany. The information in question is from Mindfactory and covers the sales for the current week. Per TechEpiphany, the RTX 4070 Ti appears to be selling the most with a total of 280 cards sold during the ongoing week.

The RTX 3060 came in second place with 255 units, while the third and fourth places are occupied by the RX 6700 XT and the RX 6600 with 180 and 130 boards sold respectively. It is not hard to see why the last-gen midrange boards are flying off the shelves. AMD and Nvidia have yet to release true next-gen mid-range cards with actual mid-range pricing, leaving budget-conscious buyers with no choice but to shop for older hardware.

Interestingly, the RX 7900 XTX and the RX 7900 XT sales tallied in at 120 and 100 respectively, whereas the RTX 4090 and the RTX 4080 cards clocked in at 90 and 70 pieces.

As the numbers in question represent the data from the ongoing week, the cumulative board sales could be different by the end of the week. However, one thing looks abundantly clear: Gamers continue to support Nvidia with their wallets regardless of the RTX 40 pricing and the reception of the company’s offerings by the media.
