Deal | Samsung Galaxy A53 5G: Mid-range smartphone drops below US$300 with over US$200 discount
Amazon US has discounted the Galaxy A53 5G, reducing the device below US$300. Offered in just Awesome Black and with 128 GB of storage, the Galaxy A53 5G has a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 25 W fast charging. Samsung launched the Galaxy A53 5G for US$449.99, which we considered overpriced when reviewing the device because of its Exynos 1280 chipset.
Also found in the Galaxy A33 5G, the Exynos 1280 is weaker than the Snapdragon 778G in the older Galaxy A52s. The Exynos 1280 is nominally more powerful than the Snapdragon 750G powering the Galaxy A52. Hence, it should come as no surprise that Amazon US has discounted the Galaxy A53 5G to US$299, a 34% saving on its list price. In other words, Amazon US has cut the Galaxy A53 5G by US$200.99.
By contrast, Samsung is offering the same device for US$369.99. However, this price only applies if you trade in a device for up to US$80 credit. While Amazon US has cut the price of the Galaxy A53 5G by nearly 50%, the company offers even deeper discounts through its Amazon Warehouse used program.
