Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 cover display size rumoured to be larger than the Galaxy Z Flip5
Even though the Galaxy Z Flip6 is months away from launch, rumours about the upcoming foldable have started emerging online. Among other things, it is slated to get a 50 MP primary camera, a much-needed upgrade over the Galaxy Z Flip5's 12 MP module. Its display could get a facelift, too, says DSCC analyst Ross Young.
The Galaxy Z Flip6 will reportedly feature a colossal 3.9-inch cover display, making it the largest ever on a Galaxy Z Flip series phone. It is remarkably bigger than the Galaxy Z Flip 5's (US$999 on Amazon) 3.4-inch secondary display. Ross says he will reveal more details about the upcoming foldable in a subsequent report while also confirming that the Galaxy Z Fold6 will get the same treatment for its cover display.
This opens up many possibilities for users to use the Galaxy Z Flip6's cover display as a primary mode of interaction. However, Galaxy Z Flip phones have historically suffered from poor battery backup, and the addition of a larger secondary screen will only make it worse. One can only hope that Samsung upgrades the now two-generation-old 3,700 mAh cell to something newer.
