GalaxyClub claims to have received early information about the successor to the Galaxy Z Flip5, which only recently started shipping globally. Supposedly, Samsung is already developing Galaxy Z Flip6 prototypes under the codename B6, a direct replacement for B5, the codename for the Galaxy Z Flip5. For reference, GalaxyClub also alleges that Samsung is prototyping the Galaxy Z Fold6 as Q6, with the current Galaxy Z Fold5 referred to internally as Q5.
While GalaxyClub has not discovered any details about the Galaxy Z Fold6 yet, it asserts that a major camera upgrade is planned for the Galaxy Z Flip6. Reportedly, Samsung is currently developing the latter with a 50 MP primary camera, mirroring the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Fold5. However, it remains to be seen what sensor Samsung is using, with GalaxyClub providing no indication in this regard.
As it stands, it would seem likely that Samsung will return to the ISOCELL GN3, a 50 MP sensor that it already uses in the Galaxy Z Fold4, Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus. Alternatively, the ISOCELL GN1, ISOCELL GN2 and ISOCELL GN5 would fit the requirements of being a 50 MP sensor, which feature in a variety of Google, Honor, Samsung, Vivo and Xiaomi smartphones. Other changes between the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Flip6 are unknown at this stage, including the latter's design. Samsung may have shown the directions that it could take future Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold models though, which we have covered separately.
