Samsung W24 set to launch as hyper-premium foldable flagship in mid-September 2023
The first and often most tech news-rich day of IFA 2023 would seem a strange time for an announcement for what will probably be the most expensive, elusive version of the pre-existing Galaxy Z Fold5 - however, that is exactly what Samsung CN has done with its newest W-series teaser.
The company's Weibo account has indeed started to hype an event that will allow its attendees "to witness the essence of the era", which, presumably, is embodied by a next-gen Galaxy W-series flagship. If so, it would emerge as the latest in a line of Galaxy Z Fold-series foldable smartphones modified for maximum premium impact with gold accents and branding in a typically China Telecom-sponsored manner.
Going by the precedent laid down by the Galaxy W23, the "W24" might be capable of drawing attention away from even the Galaxy Z Fold5 Thom Browne Edition for other markets. Furthermore, it will presumably be joined by a second-gen W23 Flip, based on the Z Flip5, on September 15, 2023.
