CES 2024 | MINISFORUM UH185 Ultra showcased as new mini-PC with Intel Core Ultra 9 185H and novel touchscreen display
MINISFORUM has shared initial details about a new mini-PC, one of several products it has showcased at CES 2024. While the company has brought several existing devices to Las Vegas, such as the MS-01, the UH185 Ultra is entirely new. The same is true of the HX200G, details of which we have covered separately.
As its name suggests, MINISFORUM has based the UH185 Ultra around the Core Ultra 9 185H, the most powerful option in Intel's Meteor Lake-H product stack. For reference, the Core Ultra 9 185H is currently the only Meteor Lake-H processor with a 45 W TDP, which it spreads across the following CPU cores:
- 6 x 4.8 GHz Intel Redwood Cove P-cores
- 8 x 3.8 GHz Intel Crestmont E-cores
- 2 x 2.5 GHz Intel Crestmont E-cores
Additionally, the 7 nm processor has 24 MB L3 cache and supports various RAM options up to LPDDR5x-7467 or DDR5-5600. It appears that MINISFORUM has opted for the latter, with 64 GB of DDR5 RAM operating at 5,600 MT/s, as shown in the photo below. Moreover, the Core Ultra 9 185H integrates an Arc iGPU that possesses 8 Xe cores and 128 Execution Units (EUs) with a 2.35 GHz peak clock speed. As VideoCardz notes, MINISFORUM has not revealed whether it is pushing the Core Ultra 9 185H beyond its stock 45 W TDP.
At any rate, GDM states that the UH185 Ultra contains two SO-DIMM slots, M.2 drive bays, 2.5 Gigabit ports and Thunderbolt 4 connections. From the one pictured revealed so far, MINISFORUM has also included a small touchscreen display for showing component utilisation, which sits beneath a front-facing camera array. Other details remain unknown for now, although it seems that MINISFORUM will ship the UH185 Ultra with a vertical stand to make use of the mini-PC's camera system.
