LG unveils a 325-inch 8K Micro LED TV for Home Theatre fans
LG has unveiled several Micro LED TVs marketed as Direct View LED Extreme Home Cinema Displays (DVLED). LG's DVLED TVs are huge though, with the range starting at 108-inches. While 108-inches is much larger than conventional TV sizes, the DVLED series also includes a 196-inch double-wide model, should you need a 32:9 TV that stretches across your whole wall. Apparently, the DVLED series features up to 33 million LEDs depending on which model you choose, which equates at an LED per pixel.
Unsurprisingly, LG expects its DVLED TVs to offer superior black levels and brighter colours than OLED or IPS panels. Arguably, the most exciting of the bunch is the 325-inch version, which has a 16:9 aspect ratio. LG describes the TV as offering a 'viewing experience like no other' and one that puts 'the theatre in home theatre'.
None of LG's DVLED TVs have Smart TV features baked-in, though. Instead, each display includes an advanced controller that delivers WebOS, LG's in-house operating system. Additionally, all DVLED TVs come with an ATA Certified Flight Case, protecting your TV if and when you want to move it. Moreover, LG includes a 5-year ExtendedCare warranty, a 3-year TotalCare Health Check and a 3-year ConnectedCare subscription.
LG does not discuss how much its DVLED TVs cost; prices are only available on request. However, LG states that it various warranties and professional installation is worth close to US$30,000 alone, so we would not be surprised if its 325-inch model stretches to six figures.
