Samsung has finally announced a release date for the Odyssey Neo G9, its 49-inch curved gaming monitor. The South Korean company teased the then called Odyssey G9 2021 in March, during which it confirmed that the monitor would reach up to 2,000 nits. The 240 Hz refresh rate, 1 ms response times and 5,120 x 1,440-pixel resolution from last year's model remain, though.
According to a press release, Samsung will begin selling the Odyssey Neo G9 on July 29. The company has also published an accompanying promotional video, which we have included below. The video is light on details though, and we none the wiser about its VESA DisplayHDR certification level. In April, Samsung China claimed that the Odyssey Neo G9 was DisplayHDR 2000 certified, which VESA rebuked.
Unfortunately, Samsung has not revealed how much the Odyssey Neo G9 will cost. For context, the Odyssey G9 retailed for US$1,699, so we doubt that the Odyssey Neo G9 will be any cheaper. Samsung has not revealed in which markets the Odyssey Neo G9 will be available, either.
