Hisense 110UX: Mini-LED TV promises extremely high-contrast images thanks to 10,000 cd/m² and 40,000 dimming zones
Hisense has a new and extremely bright TV set in the pipeline. The Hisense 110UX is said to be able to boast a brightness of up to 10,000 cd/m². This would be more than double the brightness of conventional, high-brightness TV sets. It can be assumed that this is an absolute maximum value, which accordingly cannot be maintained permanently or over the entire screen.
The Hisense 110UX is not an OLED, but a TV set based on mini-LED technology. The backlight of the screen is divided into 40,000 zones. This means that the brightness of individual areas of the picture can be very finely adjusted. The more zones there are, the better the contrast ratio tends to be, as dark areas of the picture can be clearly separated from bright areas. The screen diagonal is 110 inches. By comparison, the 75-inch Hisense 75U9G has 2,000,000 dimming zones.
The 110UX should also deliver impressive results in terms of color reproduction, with 95% of the BT.2020 color space being covered. According to the manufacturer, a special surface coating reduces the negative influence of ambient light. Hisense has not yet communicated any exact technical specifications. For example, the resolution of the TV set is still unclear, which could in principle comply with both the 4K and 8K standards. The TV will be officially unveiled at CES 2024, which will take place from January 9 to 12.
