While it was released over a year ago, the LG A2 OLED TV lineup still delivers outstanding image quality even today, handily beating many LCDs with higher price tags.
The A2 series features a 4K UHD WOLED panel with support for several HDR standards, including HDR 10, Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG), as well as Dolby Vision IQ, which can adjust the picture based on ambient light conditions. It's worth noting that the refresh rate is limited to 60 Hz, which, while more than enough for watching movies and TV shows, might not be the best for fast-paced video games.
Audio is handled by a 20 W stereo system, and the TV supports a variety of codecs, including Dolby Atmos.
The TV runs on LG's proprietary webOS platform, while the port selection consists of three HDMI 2.0, two USB connectors, a LAN port, an RF interface, and S/PDIF (optical digital audio output). Naturally, wireless connectivity is also onboard, specifically WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0.
The 48-inch LG A2 OLED TV can now be had for just US$549.99 at Best Buy thanks to an ongoing Black Friday deal, making it a relatively affordable way for buyers to experience the punchy colors and inky blacks of an OLED panel for themselves.
