Bigme InkNote X Color launches as 10-inch E Ink tablet with color display, Android 13 and stylus
The InkNoteX Color is Bigme's successor to the InkNote Color Plus, which was launched around a year ago. The new model has a relatively wide edge on one side of the display, which should make holding the tablet with one hand more comfortable without accidentally touching the touchscreen.
The tablet has a 10.3-inch E Ink Kaleido 3 display, which manages a pixel density of 300 PPI for grayscale and 150 PPI for color. As is usual with E Ink, the screen can also be easily read in direct sunlight. For use in low light, a front light is available, the color temperature of which can be set in 36 levels from warm white to cool white.
According to Bigme, the display can refresh at 15 images per second - barely enough for videos or games, but more than enough for navigating through apps or scrolling through websites. The main new feature is the MediaTek Dimensity 900, which promises significantly better performance than its predecessor with two ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores with clock speeds of up to 2.4 GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 2.0 GHz. There is also 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash storage, which can be expanded using a microSD memory card.
While the previous model came with Android 11, the new model comes uses Android 13 ex works, promising even greater app compatibility. The 4000 mAh battery should enable a long battery life thanks to an extremely economical display. The tablet comes with a pressure-sensitive stylus, which itself has an infrared transmitter and a microphone. Lastly, the InkNoteX Color has stereo speakers, quad microphones, a 5 MP front camera, an 8 MP main camera, a fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB-C.
