Amazon is running a discount on a handful of its popular e-readers, including the Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, and Kindle Scribe.
The cheapest product in this sale is the base Kindle, which features a 6-inch 300 ppi display with an adjustable frontlight for nighttime reading. The base Kindle includes 16 GB of storage and access to Amazon's robust e-book library. The device charges via USB-C and, due to its power-efficient e Ink display, can last up to 6 weeks on a charge (according to Amazon).
The base Kindle has been discounted 20% to $79.99. Keep in mind that at this price, the e-reader still has lockscreen ads. Removing these will bump the price $20 to $99.99. The Kindle with lockscreen typically retails for $99.99, so you may think of this as getting lockscreen ads removed for free at the Kindle's normal price.
The Kindle Paperwhite is also on sale for $35 off. The Paperwhite features a 6.8-inch 300 ppi display with an adjustable front light similar to the base Kindle's. The bigger screen is paired with a bigger battery that Amazon claims lasts up to 10 weeks on a single charge, but the Paperwhite has the same 16 GB of storage as the base Kindle. The Kindle Paperwhite is discounted to $114.99 with lockscreen ads or $134.99 without ads.
The Kindle Scribe is Amazon's newest e-reader. It has a 10.2-inch 300 ppi touchscreen and either 16, 32, or 64 GB of storage. The Scribe uses an e Ink display like its smaller siblings, but it also supports Amazon's digital pens for writing, drawing and digital note-taking. Users can also convert handwritten notes into text and mark up documents. The Kindle Scribe is on sale for $239.99 (16 GB) with the Basic Pen, $264.99 (16 GB) with the Premium Pen, or $279.99 for 32 GB of storage and the Premium Pen (the 64 GB model is not on sale). The Scribe does not have lockscreen ads.
