Minisforum UM790 Pro was launched last year as a high-end gaming mini PC. The company packed it with up to Ryzen 9 7940HS, a top-end processor from the AMD Phoenix lineup. Thanks to the Radeon 780M iGPU, it can offer respectable frame rates in most modern games at low to medium settings.

The barebone variant of this mini PC with the Ryzen 9 7940HS generally goes for $499. However, it’s currently enjoying a decent $60 discount, dropping to $439.99 on Amazon. You can also grab it from the official Minisforum store for $439 (code: UM790-80-off). Worth noting that, as it’s a barebone, you will need to buy the SSD and RAM separately.

Getting back to the performance of the mini PC, the UM790 Pro did well in our review. We gave it a score of 83% and liked a good number of things about it. One of them is that it can deliver a stable CPU performance, and the iGPU also did really well in our tests.

Of course, thanks to the USB4 ports, you can pair it up with an eGPU to get an even better gaming performance. When we hooked it up with a Razer Core X housing an RTX 3060 Ti, the mini PC could deliver smooth gaming performance on most modern games with all visual settings turned up.

Speaking of ports, we liked that the Minisforum UM790 Pro comes with many of them. This gaming mini PC has two USB4, four USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, two HDMI 2.1, one Ethernet, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. For wireless connectivity, it features Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6E.
