Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: Many AI functions with powerful hardware

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra features a titanium frame and Gorilla Armor glass, which ensures stability and durability. Equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy SoC, high performance is guaranteed. The display is a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED x2 panel that is flat at the edges and offers high brightness.

The smartphone has an improved camera with a periscope zoom and comes in various storage configurations. The One UI 6.1 software boasts numerous new functions and AI features. The communication functions are comprehensive, ranging from WiFi 7 support to solid signal strength. The S Pen, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and UWB are also back on board, while the only new feature is support for Auracast.

The camera once again uses four lenses, of which only the 5x optical zoom is actually new. The Live View display has been improved and the S24 Ultra sets new standards in terms of image stabilization. However, the ultra-wide angle and the smaller optical zoom in particular could have done with an upgrade. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra or the Magic6 Pro with their high-resolution sensors are heavier hitters here.

The display is very bright and the reflection-reducing surface a real game changer, but the Honor Magic6 Pro aims to be even brighter at up to 5000 cd/m² and also offers high-frequency PWM dimming, which is easier on the eyes, as the frequency of 480 Hz on the Samsung smartphone is comparatively low. The Xiaomi flagship also offers high-frequency dimming.

The Vivo X100 Pro is also a strong competitor in terms of camera and performance. The Oppo Find X7 Ultra, on the other hand, is likely to remain exclusive to the Chinese market. The Sony Xperia 1 VI can also be expected in the near future and Motorola's Edge 50 series is certainly not too far away.
