Bigme Hibreak: This smartphone comes with a color E-Ink screen and also Android 14
Bigme offers various products based on displays with e-ink and has two new devices in the pipeline. Specifically, these are smartphones. The two model variants are to be released under the name Hibreak - however, they differ so much that they are in fact two different products.
Specifically, the Bigme Hibreak is to be equipped with a MediaTek MT6765. This model variant has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. The operating system is comparatively old Android 11. The smartphone will also be available with a MediaTek Dimensity 900. This model variant will not only benefit from a higher performance but also current Android 14. The RAM increases to 8 GB and the internal memory to 256 GB.
According to the manufacturer, both model variants support 4G mobile networks and should therefore be able to be used as fully-fledged smartphones. However, Bigme has not yet communicated exact technical data, for example, it is unclear exactly which LTE bands are supported in each case. What is clear, however, is that the e-readers will also support the display of color content. This makes sense, not least for displaying comics, and should also result in a display that is more familiar for smartphone users. One of the two versions will be launched on the market in the fourth quarter of the year.
