Realme has announced that it has more new Android smartphones for the Indian market - ones that will go by a new name for their new price-brackets. The P Series is slated to more or less fit in between the C series and the main mid-range "Number Series" (except the new 12x) in terms of price, so as to bring more former flagship features to new segments of the market.
To that end, the Realme P1 Pro is now hyped to launch with the "Best Snapdragon Chipset" under 20K (<INR 20,000 (~$240)), driven by the "Best Curved AMOLED display" (with added Rainwater Touch) for the same price.
It will be accompanied by a vanilla counterpart similarly backed to wow the sub-"15K" (INR 15,000, or ~$180) with its "Fastest Chipset" to date, not to mention its "First 120Hz AMOLED Display" - with 2,000 nits of peak brightness to boot.
These silicon selling points are set to be the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 for the P1 Pro and the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 for the P1. The processors will be kept cool with other formerly premium features such as 3D Vapor Chamber technology.
Accordingly, the P1 Pro's bragging rights portray its as a less expensive 12 Pro with a slightly old-fashioned frame of the ultra-thin 2.42mm type, whereas the P1 already seems more modern with flat edges (like the new Narzo 70 Pro (now starting for INR 21,999 (~$264) on Amazon.in)).
Indeed, the P1 Pro has even been revealed to look like the 12 Pro from the back, although it is just possible that its plainer, copper-colored rear panel might be plastic.
Realme has scheduled the P Series launch event for April 15, 2024 in partnership with Flipkart.
