The Realme 12 5G is the first Realme smartphone to feature a so-called "Dynamic Button", which is suspiciously reminiscent of the Action Button on the Apple iPhone 15 Pro (approx. 1100 euros on Amazon). The function of this button, located on the right-hand side of the frame, can be configured by the user so that it can be used as a camera shortcut, to activate the LED flashlight, or to trigger airplane mode, among other things.
There is a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the underside of the flat frame. On the front is a flat IPS panel with a diagonal of 6.72 inches, 1080p+ resolution, a frame rate of 120 Hz, and a brightness of 950 nits. The 8 megapixel selfie camera is located in a central punch hole. The round camera module on the back houses the 108 MP f/1.75 main camera based on the Samsung ISOCELL HM6, although it is only supported by a 2 MP depth sensor.
The heart of the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+, a 6 nm ARM chip from 2023, which combines four Cortex-A76 performance cores with clock speeds of up to 2.2 GHz with four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 2.0 GHz. A 5,000 mAh battery with 45 watt fast charging, a microSD card reader, a fingerprint sensor in the power button and Realme UI 5 based on Android 14 round off the features of the mid-range smartphone.
