It seems the Realme 12 series of mid-range Android smartphones has one more thing to add before the end of 2024, and that would be its final, possibly most affordable, variant. The 12x is all but confirmed to land in a new tip that hints at specs such as the same SoC as its higher-end sibling.

The Realme 12 is the cheapest member of its 2024 smartphone line-up thus far; however, it seems the OEM will follow it up with another variant that might be even more of a bargain soon. It is slated to succeed a device with dual rear cameras, although it was also the first of its overall series to debut with the flat edges that also help define its "Trendy Watch Design" siblings this year.

In the meantime, the 12x (or Realme RMX3997) definitely has something in common with the vanilla 12 already: the 2 handsets share the same Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) certification. The newer device is the latest addition to the registration in question, alongside other pre-existing products such as the Realme Pad 2 and Narzo 60 5G, not to mention the 11 and the 11x itself.

Oddly, the SIG approves them all to use Bluetooth 5.3, even though both the 12 and 11x launched as Bluetooth 5.2 devices thanks to their shared Dimensity 6100+ chipset. Therefore, this new leak might be the best indication yet that the 12x will also have this SoC on its own release.

Meanwhile, the 11x now starts at INR 13,620 (~$164) with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage thanks to its latest discounts on Amazon.in.
