Realme 12 set to launch in India as 108MP Clear Portrait Master smartphone in 2024
Realme seems eager to steal its own 12-series thunder by launching a new member, then almost immediately turning around and teasing another. In a slightly confusing twist, however, the base-model 12 will debut in India rather than joining its Plus counterpart in Malaysia (merrily debunking our tentative theory that it would in fact launch as the vanilla Narzo 70 instead in the process).
In any case, the 12 is a potentially intriguing prospect as it is touted to launch as the most "stylish" as well as the most "trendy" iteration of Realme's Luxury Watch Design yet. To this end, it will have the same rear panel complete with the same "3D Jubilee Bracelet" midline accent and "Polished PVD Edges" as the 12+, yet will be the only one of its line to come in a pale violet colorway.
Then again, it seems the 12 will be finished in everyday glass rather than the vegan leather of the higher-end Plus, Pro or Pro+ models. In addition, it will eschew the all-new 50MP main shooter of the former for a 3X zoom "portrait camera" platform of a 108MP resolution that could have worked out better for some older devices.
Nevertheless, the Realme 12 will be unleashed with these specs - as well as others merely rumored at this point - on March 6, 2024.
