There is now at least "One More" piece of evidence for the existence of a new variant for the 12 series of mid-range Android smartphones, coming courtesy of Realme itself. The OEM's latest campaign page is in fact replete with plus symbols, not to mention the confirmation that the 12 Pro's "luxury" design is coming to a whole new "segment" soon.
On that note, Realme asserts that the 12+ 5G will be "class redefined", as it will debut "12 upgrades unseen in smartphone industry history", thereby strongly hinting that it intends to allow a relatively large number of formerly higher-end features to trickle down to a more accessible price-bracket for the first time all at once.
It seems one of those is its main rear camera, projected to have a 50MP resolution and now hyped to launch as coming from Sony with OIS. It will be set into a chassis with the same kind of rear panel as the 12 Pro+ (which will be introduced to a new market alongside it), but with flat edges.
The 12+ 5G is also said to bring the same SoC as its 11 Pro relatives to its tier of the Malaysian market on its debut. However, that detail might have to wait until February 29, 2024 to find out for sure.
