The Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ will be officially unveiled on Monday, January 29. After the Realme 11 Pro (approx. 325 euros on Amazon) was offered in Europe, the manufacturer is also planning a global launch for the Realme 12 series.
Toranji has now published an image of the packaging of the mid-range smartphone, confirming the most important specifications of the device. According to this, the Realme 12 Pro+ is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, a 4 nm ARM chip from the previous year, which has four ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores with clock speeds of up to 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores with clock speeds of 1.95 GHz. There is also a curved 120 Hz "Vision Display", a main camera based on the 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor in 1/1.56 inch format, and a periscope telephoto camera with triple optical zoom.
The Realme 12 Pro+ is apparently intended to impress primarily with its cameras, as Realme has already published numerous sample photos. The portraits are intended to demonstrate the qualities of the periscope telephoto camera based on the 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B in 1/2 inch format, as the focal length of 80 millimeters (35 mm equivalent) is perfect for portraits.
A special filter is designed to give photos a "cinematic look", while an optional eye-catching watermark can be switched on to display the name of the smartphone and the settings used to take the photo. However, Realme takes digital zoom and the virtual aperture of portrait mode into account, meaning that the information from the watermark is only of limited use.
