Realme 12 Plus tipped to launch with Android 14 and recycled SoC in new leak
Realme unleashed the 11 Pro/Pro+, 11 and 11x in that order last year; however, the OEM is projected to shake things up in 2024 by releasing a 12+ in place of a 12 next. The same Android smartphone has now allegedly surfaced on a benchmarking site ahead of its launch. The new leak purports to contribute more evidence as to which chipset it will run on its launch.
The device has apparently been identified as the 12+ via its model number RMX3867, which runs Android 14 on Geekbench. As before, that OS is depicted as powered by a processor with a top speed of 2.6GHz. However, the benchmark may have filled some blanks in by adding that 6 of its 8 ARM cores actually go at 2.0GHz.
In that case, the mystery chipset might in fact be the same Dimensity 7050 found in the Realme 11 Pro series, in which case the new 12+ might owe its updated moniker to having the same silicon as its own series' last-gen flagships.
Nevertheless, the trickle-down spec has not earned it much more than 2,300 in multi-core scores and not even 1,000 in single-core scores - even with 12GB of RAM.
