ASUS Zenfone 11 Ultra revealed with hints of ROG Phone 8 re-brand before March 'expand your vision' global release
Less than a year has passed since ASUS introduced the Zenfone 10, one of the few modern Android flagships to persist with a sub-6-inch display. Subsequently, there was speculation that ASUS would consolidate its smartphone division, having operated the ROG Phone and Zenfone series as different entities. Not only did the company strenuously deny these claims, but it has now started teasing the release of the Zenfone 11 Ultra.
As the screenshots below, ASUS has only revealed the Zenfone 11 Ultra with no mention of a smaller Zenfone 11. In fact, the company is actively marketing the benefits of adopting an 'Ultra size', all under the banner of 'expand your vision'. Additionally, ASUS has highlighted that the Zenfone 11 Ultra is 'Hypersteady', has a 'long lasting battery' and a 'portrait mode', short video clips for which it has shared on a dedicated teaser website.
Based on recent information, the Zenfone 11 Ultra is effectively a re-branded ROG Phone 8, which its leaked model number reinforces. In other words, it seems that the ROG Phone and Zenfone series have been merged in spirit, although they may continue to operate separately for the time being. The Zenfone 11 Ultra will debut on March 14 with Berlin, New York and Taipei events, commencing at 12:00 UTC.
