Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra shown in official images with ROG Phone 8 and Zenbook laptop series stylings
Barely any time has passed since the first seemingly official images of the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra appeared online. However, reliable leaker Evan Blass has now weighed in with more images of the same device that are higher resolution than those that have surfaced previously. Not only does Blass' leak add credibility to previous Zenfone 11 Ultra leaks, but it also serves as the first opportunity to see the device's entire display panel.
In short, there are few surprises, with the Zenfone 11 Ultra shaping up to a re-branded ROG Phone 8 handset of sorts. As such, the Zenfone 11 Ultra's 6.78-inch and 144 Hz AMOLED display has thin bezels, a slim chin and a small centred punch-hole for its front-facing camera. Similarities extend further, with the Zenfone 11 Ultra also adopting a flat display finish, as has increasingly become the trend among large flagships like the Pixel 8 Pro and Galaxy S24 Ultra.
By contrast, the Zenfone 11 Ultra sports a subtly curved back panel, which tapers into a black mid-frame regardless of the back panel's colour option. For some reason, Blass' leaked promotional images are missing a lime-green hue that was shown last time out. At any rate, all Zenfone 11 Ultra SKUs will ship with an asymmetrical camera housing that looks plainer than the equivalent found in the ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro. Moreover, the ROG branding has made way for a Zenbook series-inspired design. Currently, it is unclear whether Asus intends to sell a smaller series sibling to the Zenfone 11 Ultra, although there is evidence that a standard Zenfone 11 is on its way, too.
