Google Pixel 8a launch pricing revealed with new 256 GB memory configuration rumoured

The release of the Pixel 8a remains a few months off. Nonetheless, WinFuture and Roland Quandt claim to have obtained launch pricing for this year's mid-range Pixel smartphone. According to Quandt, the Pixel 8a will be significantly more expensive in Europe than the Pixel 7a (curr. $476.85 on Amazon), which still sells for €509 in the Eurozone.

Reportedly, the Pixel 8a will start at €569.90 in Bay, Mint, Obsidian and Porcelain colour options, a €60 and 12% increase. Also, this means that the cost of picking up a Pixel A series smartphone will have risen by €110 in two years, although Google now sells the Pixel 6a for €409. Unfortunately, Google's decision to make its mid-range Pixel smartphone more expensive does not coincide with a default memory option upgrade.

Instead, the next Pixel A series handset will start with 128 GB of storage, which has been true since 2020 with the release of the Pixel 4a. Allegedly, Google plans to offer two memory options for this year's model though, which would be a first for the Pixel A series. However, the Pixel 8a with 256 GB of storage is said to cost €629.90, €40 more than an equivalent new Pixel 7.
