Vivo V40 SE revealed globally as new 5G mid-range smartphone with 1,800 nit AMOLED display and Snapdragon 4 Gen 2
Vivo has presented three smartphones today, one of which is the V40 SE. For reference, the others are the X Fold3 and X Fold3 Pro, full coverage of which you can find through the appropriate hyperlinks. In short, the V40 SE targets a different price point, which is underlined by its reliance on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset rather than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 that power the X Fold3 and X Fold3 Pro, respectively.
Nonetheless, Vivo has also included a large AMOLED display that should peak at 1,800 nits when viewing HDR content. Additionally, the 6.67-inch display is rated to deliver 1,200 nits across its entire panel while outputting at 1080p and 120 Hz. Moreover, Vivo has equipped the V40 SE with a 5,000 mAh battery that can be recharged at up to 44 W, plus 16 MP front-facing, 50 MP primary, 8 MP ultra-wide-angle and 2 MP auxiliary cameras.
Currently, Vivo has not confirmed launch pricing. However, the company has listed the V40 SE on its global and Austrian websites with full device specifications. Although its release date remains unknown for now, its product page confirms the pre-installation of Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14, as well as 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256 GB of UFS 2.2 flash storage.
