Motorola Edge 50 Ultra shows up in leaked videos with waterproof case in Pantone Peach Fuzz
After the first details and images of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra were leaked a few days ago, the usually extremely reliable leaker Evan Blass published the teaser videos embedded below, which show the design of the smartphone in detail. Compared to the Edge 40 Pro (approx. 805 euros on Amazon), Motorola has primarily redesigned the camera module, which is significantly larger and has a sloping edge.
The back is apparently available in either a brushed metal look or in the Pantone color of the year 2024 "Peach Fuzz" offered. Judging by the teaser videos, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is IP68-certified and therefore water-resistant. The glass cover of the display is said to be particularly robust, so Motorola is probably using Gorilla Glass Victus. Whether the Edge 50 Ultra will be released at the same time as the Edge 50 Pro on Wednesday, April 3, is not yet known.
According to earlier rumors, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and will get a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 1080p+ resolution and a refresh rate of 165 Hz. Motorola is to install three 50-megapixel cameras, including an ultra-wide-angle camera, a wide-angle camera, and a periscope telephoto camera, with the latter offering a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 75 mm, i.e. around three times the zoom. The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra will be launched with up to 12 GB RAM, 512 GB flash memory, and Android 14. No details on the price are yet known, but the more affordable Edge 50 Pro is expected to be offered for around 865 euros.
