The Honor Magic6 Pro is set to become the world's latest 'satellite smartphone' on its imminent launch. Now, a leaker purports to spoil its new spec in action, and to pit it against an existing device with similar capabilities. It seems the Honor version might be superior in some respects compared to Huawei's take on the technology.

Huawei and Honor were once brands of the same OEM; now, however, their latest flagship smartphones will become direct competitors in terms of one of the most on-trend specs out there: satellite communications. The latter has indeed confirmed that its upcoming Magic6 series will challenge the existing Mate 60 series in this respect.

The leaker NeochaEDGE on Weibo claims to have laid hands on a Magic6 Pro unit to put its new feature to the test in advance of its launch. It supposedly appears on video head-to-head with a Mate 60 Pro with their respective satellite apps open.

The short clip seems to indicate that the Magic6 Pro was the faster of the 2 in terms of finding and connecting to a compatible satellite, although the Mate 60 Pro was first to actually initiate a call using said connection.

In addition, the post also potentially supplies a hands-on leak for the next-gen Honor smartphone, purporting to confirm that its display will have a pill-shaped cut-out for its selfie camera array, as opposed to the newer triple punch-hole of the Mate 60 Pro.
