Xiaomi revealed to have developed POCO M7 Pro 5G as Redmi 13 5G spin-off
Android Headlines has obtained new details about at least two upcoming Xiaomi smartphones. As is often the case, the pair have their roots in the same underlying hardware, as is rumoured to be the case with the Redmi Turbo 3 and POCO F6. Likewise, a recent FCC certification effectively confirmed that Xiaomi will re-brand the Redmi K70 as the POCO F6 Pro outside China.
In the same vein, Android Headlines previously asserted that Xiaomi had created the Redmi 13 5G for some markets and the POCO M6 for others. However, it now claims that the POCO variant of the Redmi 13 5G will be the POCO M7 Pro 5G with the following model numbers, both codenamed 'breeze' and 'N19':
- Redmi 13 5G
- China: 2406ERN9CC
- India: 2406ERN9CI
- POCO M7 Pro 5G
- India: 24066PC95I
For reference, this would follow the pattern set by last year's Redmi 12 5G, which Xiaomi eventually released in India as the POCO M6 Pro 5G. Please note that the POCO M6 Pro 5G is a different device to the POCO M6 Pro that Xiaomi sells globally (curr. $197.50 on Amazon). Based on Android Headlines' latest findings, it would seem that the POCO M7 Pro 5G is not destined to receive a global release yet, either.
Reportedly, the Redmi 13 5G and POCO M7 Pro 5G will launch later this year sporting a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, the same chipset that powers the Redmi 12 5G. If the pair's model numbers are anything to go by, then Xiaomi is targeting a June 2024 release. Unfortunately, this is often a target release window for one model and does not necessarily apply to all model variants.
