Xiaomi announces HyperOS upgrades for Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G
Xiaomi has now started delivering HyperOS to the Redmi Note 13 5G series. To recap, the company committed itself to doing so almost two months ago alongside 16 other devices. It only confirmed that the series would commence HyperOS upgrades 'starting from H1 2024' though, which could have been anytime from then until the end of June.
Since then, HyperOS has landed on the Mi 10 and Mi 11 series that Xiaomi launched in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Now, Xiaomi has confirmed that HyperOS is arriving for the Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G (curr. $384.50 on Amazon) as HyperOS 1. According to repositories like Xiaomi Firmware Updater, Xiaomi should have already initiated HyperOS upgrades earlier this month.
However, it seems that these new round of updates could be Indian specific, although Xiaomi has not acknowledged as much in its recent Twitter post. Nonetheless, HyperOS brings Android 14 to the Redmi Note 13 series, which even newer 4G variants have lacked until now. Please see Xiaomi's dedicated HyperOS website for details about the changes found in its new OS, which it claims is a 'comprehensive refactoring' of MIUI.
