Xiaomi POCO M6 Pro 4G debuts globally for budget pricing with 120 Hz AMOLED display and 64 MP triple cameras
Xiaomi has announced a second POCO M6 Pro, five months after the release of a 5G variant. This time, the company has sought to offer a 4G model under the banner POCO M6 Pro 4G. Typically, Xiaomi equips its 4G models with weaker hardware than their 5G siblings. However, the opposite is true with the POCO M6 Pro 4G, which surpasses the POCO M6 Pro 5G in several areas.
According to Xiaomi, the former is based around the Helio G99 Ultra, an apparently tweaked version of the Helio G99 that MediaTek unveiled in August 2022. Additionally, the POCO M6 Pro 4G can be configured with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of expandable storage, which Xiaomi underpins with a 5,000 mAh battery. While the handset's battery capacity matches its 5G counterpart, the POCO M6 Pro 4G can recharge considerably faster thanks to a 67 W wired charging. By contrast, the POCO M6 Pro 5G makes do with much slower 18 W charging.
Moreover, the POCO M6 Pro 4G contains a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel that outputs at 120 Hz and 1080p, compared to the 90 Hz IPS equivalent in the POCO M6 Pro 5G. On top of that, Xiaomi includes 64 MP primary (OIS), 8 MP ultra-wide-angle, 2 MP macro and 16 MP front-facing cameras, which also surpass the cameras in the 5G model. The POCO M6 Pro 4G is available globally at the following prices:
- 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage - $199/€229
- 12 GB RAM/512 GB storage - $249/€259
