From Space Zoom to AI Zoom: Samsung has changed the motto for the Galaxy S24 Ultra in 2024, but remains true to the overall principle. This year, Samsung's flagship is once again set to impress with its telephoto cameras, but the focus is on AI this time and no longer on maximum range. This is also proven by the first leaked marketing slides, which are currently being shared on social networks and were apparently recorded and distributed without authorization as part of a training session with Samsung partners.
Training slides confirm important Galaxy S24 features
Only very little information from this leak is really new, as many of the Galaxy S24 features and, most recently, all the specs have been known for weeks. In addition to the three main color options of black (Titanium Black and Onyx Black), gray (Titanium Gray and Marble Gray), violet (Titanium Violet and Cobalt Violet), the option of yellow can also be seen here (Titanium Yellow and Amber Yellow).
Another slide advertises the higher performance of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (for Galaxy) and Exynos 2400 compared to its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 predecessor in the Galaxy S23, with Samsung also having upgraded the cooling system. According to the training documents, the vapor chamber in the Galaxy S24 Ultra is 1.9x larger, 1.6x larger in the Galaxy S24+ and 1.5x larger in the Galaxy S24.
Gamers can also look forward to ray tracing support and a 12% higher touch response. Samsung is also promoting the slightly larger 6.2-inch, 6.7-inch and 6.8-inch displays with thinner bezels that offer 48% higher brightness in direct sunlight and adaptive color adjustment, depending on the environment. The Galaxy S24 Ultra camera is advertised as having a quad telephoto camera with 'optical quality', while both 50 MP photos and 8K video now work with 5x zoom.
Samsung makes use of the huge LED surface of the Las Vegas Sphere
The AI zoom with multi-frame processing is supposed to work across all focal lengths on the Galaxy S24 Ultra; on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, it was still limited to zoom shots beyond 20x. Of course, Samsung's official teasers for the Galaxy S24 don't go into all that much detail. Nevertheless, there was a spectacle for Samsung fans on site at CES 2024.
The Las Vegas Sphere, which can be rented for event purposes, with its huge LED surface in the shape of a globe, was used on January 9, 2024, for a new Galaxy Unpacked teaser that could be admired from a number of places in the city. Thanks to drone footage, the video (embedded below) displays the marketing event well, which was created in collaboration with Marvel Studios' second season of "What if...?".
